Located minutes (with no traffic) from downtown Boston, Blue Hills Reservation stretches over 7,000 acres from Quincy to Dedham, Milton to Randolph, providing a green oasis in an urban environment. The Myles Standish State Forest is the largest publicly owned recreation area in southeastern Massachusetts. In the summer, offered programs include pondshore walks and cranberry bog explorations. There are over 15 miles of bicycle trails, 13 miles of hiking trails, and 35 miles of equestrian trails. This is a great place to visit in the summer.

Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeastern U.S., attains an elevation of 6,288 feet above mean sea level. You can easily reach the top via the Mt. Washington Auto Road, but there is a toll to pay. The cost includes the famous sticker "This car climbed Mt. Washington" as well as a CD with an Audio Tour.

Like so many old Inns in New England, the Henniker House is a wonderful place to stay, albeit a little haunted, if you believe in those sort of things.

A local legend every Halloween night the ghost of Mary Wallace supposedly makes visits to her old house, in a horse drawn coach.

Mary is know believed to help those who reside in her house.
