The Witch House, home of Judge Jonathan Corwin, is the only structure still standing in Salem with direct ties to the Witchcraft Trials of 1692. As a local magistrate and civic leader, Corwin was called upon to investigate the claims of diabolical activity when a surge of witchcraft accusations arose in Salem and neighboring communities. He served on the Court of Oyer and Terminer, which ultimately sent nineteen to the gallows. All nineteen refused to admit to witchcraft and maintained their innocence. (Taken from their website)

Beavertail is the third oldest lighthouse in the US, and a great place to visit if you are in the area. A fantastic place to see it's panoramic view of Narragansett Bay.

This is a great castle to visit at any time of the year, but visit during October and you can go on a Ghost tour throughout the castle. It's one of many Mansions in the area that provide tours.

Battleship Cover is the world's largest historic naval ship exhibit. You can visit the Battleship Massachusetts, the Attack Submarine Lionfish and the Destroyer Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Battleship Cover has five national historic landmarks, and is a wonderful place to visit.

Located right in Sydney Harbor, and a quick, ferry ride away, this former prison has a lot of history. Besides a prison, it was a school for girls, a shipbuilding and repair center, and a construction site for WWII ships.
Open to the public in 2007, you can now take two-and-a-half hour walking tours on weekends and even camp out on the former Plate Yard for a night.

"Woodburn" has served as the official home of Delaware's Governors since it was purchased by the state in 1965. Important today as the Executive residence of the Governor, it is equally important for its long line of notable previous residents. This former prison dates back to the civil war, and has a violent history. In the Ohio area, it is one of the best places to visit during the Halloween season as has it's fair share of hauntings. They offer Ghost Walks and Ghost Hunts throughout the year as well.
