The Witch House, home of Judge Jonathan Corwin, is the only structure still standing in Salem with direct ties to the Witchcraft Trials of 1692. As a local magistrate and civic leader, Corwin was called upon to investigate the claims of diabolical activity when a surge of witchcraft accusations arose in Salem and neighboring communities. He served on the Court of Oyer and Terminer, which ultimately sent nineteen to the gallows. All nineteen refused to admit to witchcraft and maintained their innocence. (Taken from their website)

This is a great castle to visit at any time of the year, but visit during October and you can go on a Ghost tour throughout the castle. It's one of many Mansions in the area that provide tours.

Located right in Sydney Harbor, and a quick, ferry ride away, this former prison has a lot of history. Besides a prison, it was a school for girls, a shipbuilding and repair center, and a construction site for WWII ships.
Open to the public in 2007, you can now take two-and-a-half hour walking tours on weekends and even camp out on the former Plate Yard for a night.

This former prison dates back to the civil war, and has a violent history. In the Ohio area, it is one of the best places to visit during the Halloween season as has it's fair share of hauntings. They offer Ghost Walks and Ghost Hunts throughout the year as well.
