The Colonial House Inn, locatedin Yarmouthport, MA is a great place to visit anytime of year. Steeped in history, the Inn is located on King's Highway, more commonly known as Main Street. Open year round, you can stay the night, or have lunch / dinner in their dining hall.

The Coventry Society for the Antiquarian and Landmarks Society believes in bringing history to life, and offer special programs to the public, that demonstrate the way of life of the people, and special historical occurrences. Employees dressed as various members of the Hale family often greet visitors, giving tours of the place, and telling about life in the 1700's. During the Halloween season, and other selected weekends, the Nathan Hale Fifes and Drums put on colonial encampments and even do battle reenactments. Nathan Hale comes home to his family's mansion to try to recruit men to join the militia, and will sign autographs using an authentic quill pen! That's right! Morris-Jumel Mansion, Manhattan's oldest house, was headquarters to General Washington in September and October of 1776. After Washington's departure, the Mansion played host to a succession of British and Hessian military leaders, served briefly as an inn for weary travelers, and finally returned to its role as country house. During the Halloween season, the prison is transformed into a haunted house, but you better be careful, you may run into someone who isn't part of the show!

Joel Clough brutally stabbed his girlfriend to death with a knife. Sentenced to death, he escaped from the prison but was quickly recaptured. He spent his final days in the death row cell known as "the dungeon". Clough was hanged in 1833. Shortly after his death, guards and inmates heard moaning and the sounds of rattling chains from the empty cell. They also claimed to see apparitions and items levitating in the cell.(from their website)
